Gnarly Fingers is the band that Tom formed in 2006 with his pals Pat List, Keith Layton and Terry Smith.  Terry returned to Florida and left Tom with bass duties and Buffalo Joe Stephens was added on mandolin.  Terry is back in the mountains and Tom has taken over duties on mandolin and banjo and John Andrews has joined on fiddle. The “Gnarlies”, as they’re known to their friends in the mountains, have become one of the premier performance bands in the region. Their blend of original music, coupled with covers of some of their favorite songwriters is highlighted with their three part harmonies and their shows draw some of the biggest crowds in N. Georgia and W. North Carolina.

List, Layton and Edwards grew up singing in church choirs and at family gatherings and the basic foundation of what they produce today comes from the “part” singing required in the choir loft. Keith Layton’s smokin’ lead guitar and Pat List’s guitar and harmonica are highlighted throughout their sets that include music by Jimmy Buffett, The Eagles, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Tom Waits, The Band…

Gnarly Fingers performs regularly throughout the mountains, in season. Some of their regular stops include Doyle’s Cedar Hill Restaurant in Murphy, NC, The Square in Hayesville, NC at the CCCRA sponsored events, the Hiawassee Square, Tusquittee Tavern and frequent “special events” like the Hiwassee River Watershed Coalition celebrations, Peacock Playhouse Galas…

Booking Gnarly Fingers is as easy as emailing letsplay6string@gmail.com or by calling Tom (in Georgia) at 706.896.3220 or Pat (in North Carolina) at 828.361.5015. They make every event more fun.
